Publication on English version of NUMO Technical Reports

“Development of Methodologies for the Identification of Volcanic and Tectonic Hazards to Potential HLW Repository Sites in Japan -The Kyushu Case Study-(NUMO-TR-09-02)” have been published as NUMO technical report series.

NUMO has developed a probabilistic methodology for assessing volcanic and tectonic hazards together with international experts, which was recognized as one of the issues in the International Tectonics Meeting (ITM). This report includes the results of a case study in the tectonically complicated Kyushu region to apply and improve the methodology which had been developed through the case study in the Tohoku region (NUMO-TR-08-03)

“Development of Methodologies for the Identification of Volcanic and Tectonic Hazards to Potential HLW Repository Sites in Japan -Summary Report-(NUMO-TR-09-03)” have been published as NUMO technical report series.

This report summarizes the discussions in the seven International Tectonics Meetings (ITMs) which had been organized by NUMO, addressing the assessment of long-term tectonic hazards in Japan, and an outline of the probabilistic methodology for assessing volcanic and tectonic hazards which was recognized as one of the issues in the second ITM.
