NUMO webinar on geological disposal technology:‘The NEA international peer review of NUMO’s Pre-siting SDM-based Safety Case and lessons learned from this’

May 24, 2023

NUMO published “The NUMO Pre-siting SDM-based Safety Case” in February 2021 and its English version PDF in November 2021. In order to assess the maturity of our Safety Case by comparison with international best practice, we initiated an external peer review by OECD/NEA in November 2021. The report compiling the review results was published on OECD/NEA’s website in January 2023.

The international peer review output includes valuable suggestions for improving the reliability of future Safety Cases. This webinar is planned to provide to the wider public an overview of the review results and NUMO’s responses to such suggestions.
